Welcome

Bliss can be defined as "supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment; heaven; paradise." I think that bliss is a wonderful adjective to describe my life. But I'd be kidding myself to think it was completely perfect...thus "imperfect bliss." You'll find there is no rhythm or organization to my posts...merely ramblings of my life as a mother of three. Feel free to join us on our journey. Life is a journey after all...

Water.

One person you rarely see pictured on my blog is me.  Moi.  The Queen Bee.  The "if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" mama.  But whatever.  It's my blog.  And what the Queen Bee posts is what you get.

However, today I chose to change things up a bit.  I'm posting a picture of me.  Eeeeeeeeeeek!!!  Drumroll puh-lease.  (Sorry...it was one of those "quick! put the camera on the kitchen counter, hit the timer button, and run and pose" pics.  And double sorry I still haven't re-purchased Photoshop since our computer crashed and we changed to a Mac.  I'd love to smooth out those wrinkles.)  Anyway.  The woman behind the blog....
There.  See that??  No...not the wrinkles.  Not the birthday streamers in the background.  WATER.  Oh, good.  You did see it.  Which brings me to my point.  (Finally, eh?)  Remember back to Christmas time when you awesome, fabulous, amazing, wonderful, kick-ass people helped me to raise $675 for Living Water International??  That was awesome!!!!!  Awesome, I say.  Well...unfortunately there are still hundreds of millions of people in this world without clean drinking water.  Just.  Blows.  My.  Mind.

Or should I say....   Just.  Blows.

Anyway, there is another great charity I want to bring your attention to called charity: water.  This month, they are celebrating their 5 year anniversary.  In just five years, they have supplied clean water to 2 million people!   Now they are running a 5 year anniversary campaign to raise money for another drilling rig...so they can drill an additional 80 wells a year and supply clean water to 40,000 people in Ethiopia.   Amazing.  (Seeing as my newest niece and nephew are being adopted from Ethiopia...it holds a special place in my heart.)

So...if you have a few extra bucks...or even better...some extra time...let's all find a way to give the amazing gift of water.   Buy a shirt.  (Really...my new mantra could be your new mantra:  I can make a shopping trip out of anything.  Say it with me and then start shopping here.)  Have a lemonade stand.  Write a check.  Pray.  Do something.  People are thirsty.

And no....I don't work for either of the aforementioned water charities.

But I wish I did.

Water is definitely something that I am passionate about. We waste it in this country, especially in the midwest because we have the great lakes to drink from. It's brought to the tables at restaurants and most people don't even touch it...I'm the psycho at the table going no water, or, don't refill my glass, since I probably won't drink it!
