Welcome

Bliss can be defined as "supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment; heaven; paradise." I think that bliss is a wonderful adjective to describe my life. But I'd be kidding myself to think it was completely perfect...thus "imperfect bliss." You'll find there is no rhythm or organization to my posts...merely ramblings of my life as a mother of three. Feel free to join us on our journey. Life is a journey after all...

1st Birthday.

Ok.  I know.  Finley's first birthday was over a month ago.  But as soon as we had her party...school was out and the mayhem began!  Still thought I'd post some pictures for you to see.  Alright...let's get this party started...

Now, for her first birthday I decided to just go with a "pink and all things girly" theme.  We can get into Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake, and Disney Princess themes later.  (Maybe...)  I also decided it would be much more memorable to do everything handmade.  Fun!  No...it really was.

So here is a picture of her birthday cake.  It was a homemade strawberry cake with pink ruffled frosting.  No, I had never made a cake from scratch before...let alone with ruffles!  Needless to say after 30 minutes of ruffling...my arm was numb.  But I think it turned out well, considering.
 Yes.  Crazy.  Girly.  Pink.  Ruffles.
I also made banana cupcakes (from scratch) with cream cheese frosting...complete with handmade cupcake toppers!

Handmade birthday banners, anyone?  Sure.  Why not??

I also made a photo banner of her first year.  My how time has flown!  My little baby is a one year old?? Wahhhhhhh!!

Chi-Chi (aka...Aunt Kristen) made sugar cookies.  When she texted me to see what she could bring...I was up to my ears in decor...so I caved.  Thanks, Chi-Chi!
Mimi brought some cute little (and tasty) cake pops.  I still can't figure out how she makes them...
I also made some outdoor signs...
Here is the birthday girl's cupcake.
And here is the birthday girl getting ready to eat said cupcake.  Isn't she cute??
Dig in, sister.

Don't hold back, girlfriend.
Happy girl!!  Which is what it's all about!!
Hope you enjoyed your birthday, baby!!  We love you!!

Great decorations and beautiful cake! You should start a party planning business. I may steal some of these ideas for my wedding! How did you make the cupcake toppers?

Oh, the kid is cute too ;)

The cupcake toppers were so easy! Just used stickers from the craft store, stuck them to a toothpick, and put a piece of paper on the back of the sticker to hide the toothpick. :)
